The
Modern Restaurant Urbis |
| The
Modern is a sleek and sophisticated drinking and dining experience
located at the top of one of Manchester’s most iconic
buildings, Urbis. |
Situated
on floors 5 and 6, the Modern enjoys a level of elevation,
tranquillity and peace, presenting stunning panoramic views
of the city skyline. |
The
restaurant has the capacity to seat 60 diners and serves
regional dishes, presented seasonally, making the best use
of local suppliers and producers. |
Head
chef Paul Falkner has put together an exemplary menu,
operating a back to basics approach with a modern sensibility,
focusing on Northern roots and the cooking techniques of
Northern England. |
| The
Modern endeavour to only serve the best produce, locally sourced
where possible and presented seasonally. All their meat is
selected for its traceability and regional provenance, showing
belief in their suppliers and the farming techniques they
practice. |
A
prix-fixe menu is available daily, both at lunchtimes and
early evening. The selection of quick dishes makes it ideal
for lunch breaks and pre-show meals, with the MEN Arena
located next door and the Royal Exchange Theatre just a
few metres away. |

| The
bar at the Modern has the capacity to hold 60 guests and offers
its customers exceptional cocktails, executed by some of the
best mixologists in Manchester. Using the finest spirits, freshest
ingredients and squeezed juice, the cocktail menu focuses on
the golden age of mixed drinks; packed with classics, long forgotten
gems and some truly obscure recipes, dating back over 500 years. |
| Located
next to the MEN Arena, The Printworks and the Arndale shopping
centre, with The Royal Exchange Theatre and Deansgate just a
short stroll away, The Modern is the perfect place to grab a
pre-show meal and with a wonderful lunch time menu available,
where better is there to take a rest from all that shopping? |
