Zinc
Restaurant Restaurant - reader comments |
"I booked for a group of 10 and was not told when booking that we
had to order from a limited menu, which had 3/4 mains and starters
to choose from. We explained this was unacceptable
and they eventually 'let' us order from the main menu. We were also
seated in an annex with no other customers in so it really lacked
atmosphere. Food was OK but definitely nothing special
and you couldn't help but feel they thought we were being awkward.
My sea bass was nice but other meals looked very disappointing.
I have been twice now and will only return under duress as there are
far better restaurants in Manchester" -

"I had not eaten in Zinc for years, as it is somewhere I always forget
exists. I think it might be owned by the people that run Restaurant
Bar & Grill as the menu was very similar. We found the staff to
be lovely, very friendly and were always there when
you needed them. Good music in the background and a nice atmosphere
except for the drunken hen party in the bar. They were only a few
feet away from where we were eating but at least they gave us a laugh!
We visited in a group of six and we all found our food to
be really tasty and well cooked. We had a mix of everything
from Thai Green Curry to Sausage & Mash. I always find the drinks
to be a little expensive in Zinc but it's probably
no different to any restaurant/bar of the same ilk. The overall bill
was expensive at £60 a couple as we only had two courses each
and we didn't order bottles of wine" -

| "I
liked the entire place the only tiny thing I can think is
that 4 stylish placed chips on a plate does not make a portion. Otherwise,
great, the staff were approachable and very welcoming"

"It was the best chicken sandwich I have ever had
(and I've had many). The things on the menu were quite expensive,
but my sandwich was well worth the money (£6.50).
The waitress was very friendly and the service was fast.
Will definetely be returning here :)" -

"Great stylish restaurant and bar with superb staff.
Recently refurbished and looking even better, it's sadly let down
massively by the ridiculously overpriced food. Small
portions at huge prices leaves a bad taste in the mouth (and pocket),
which is a pity as the food is quite good. One other thing, the Russian
troops had to travel a shorter, less complicated journey underground
to infiltrate Hitler's bunker than the one you have to make to find
the toilets at Zinc." -

| "Visited
here for a pre-show meal last night with only an hour to spare. Despite
being really busy we were soon served with plenty of time to enjoy
- and we did - thoroughly! Looking forward to next trip, with more
time to spare, to sample more from the excellent menu.
Staff, ambience, service, food and presentation all excellent
- Well done!"

for a relaxed evening out or a quick bite with friends. Lively
