Pink Garlic Restaurant Rusholme Manchester - reader comments

"Food was delayed, portions were mega small, starters were shockingly priced they even charged for extra salad and water. Big place not many people, one dish ordered but never came and to avoid embarrassment they crossed it of the bill. We waited 30 mins for the order and even then it only came after we reminded them that we were waiting, at which point the waitier never showed his face again. The waiters seemed uninterested and seemed in a hurry to move on with order. No extras were given, not even a mint and we were not even asked if we enjoyed the mood, seemed like we were unwelcome guests. Poor in every way ." - mohseen mutvalli, leicester - 6/10/08 (visited on a saturday evening)

"The food was out of this world. Everything was spot on, especially the Hot & Sour Soup and Chicken Manchurian Sizzler. Don't forget to try their Biryani Haleem Nrhar i. Everything was classic. I do recommend to every one, Pink Garlic is the place to go ." - hamad, manchester - 23/7/08 (visited on a saturday evening)

"I thought it was a great place to eat. I enjoyed the food ." - ejaz, manchester - 8/7/08 (visited on a thursday evening)

"I invited guests on my daughter's birthday and no doubt, everyone had a bad experience. Hot & Sour Soup was smelly - thanks to the restaurant manager, he changed it for us. Starter Kebap and Tikka was too spicy, and the main course Chicken Manchurian was full of water, Chicken Fried Rice and Special Fried Rice both were just the same, tasteless and seemed to be cooked by a chef who has never tasted the Chinese dish. In short every thing we ate and drank (lemonade) was third class. I strongly recommend they change the chef if they'd like to see their customers frequently as I like everything about this restaurant but the food." - asi, manchester - 7/6/08 (visited on a friday evening)

"my visit was not too bad! The portions were a bit small to previous restaurants I have been to and the service was a bit slow because it was a busy evening and there was a party going on as well. but otherwise the food was really nice especially the Sizzler." - henna, rochdale -15/2/08 (visited on valentine's night)

"I asked for a Sprite but was given cheap lemonade instead. I told the waiter the drink didn't taste as it should - he happliy changed it. The replacement was given but again it was lemonade - I complained again and was told that there was no difference in Sprite and lemonade! I complained again and was finally given the correct drink.. much to my amazement, I was charged for the drinks that had been returned.. so I would watch your bill.
The restaurant was very pricey - the food was okay but nothing special." - shaz, bolton -2/9/07 (visited on a Thursday evening)

"Pink Garlic did really spoil my birthday mood. I enjoyed the meal and had a bill of £50.50. I had a feeling something was not right so I did my own calculations. To my surprise they charged me 10% additional service charge. No one told me about this. I was upset as I felt deceived. They could've told me before or wrote it in the menu. We spoke to the manager (Arif) who in a nutshell said it's too late to argue as we have already paid. Would I go there again or recommend? Well there are plenty of restaurants in Wilmslow Road i.e. Sanam. After an experience like mine it is difficult to say I had a good time" - mohammad, bradford -27/5/07 (visited on a Saturday evening)
