Pizza
Express Italian Restaurant Manchester - reader comments
"I always thought Pizza Express was a safe option when you wanted
a bite to eat. Nothing special but good quality food. I was wrong.
My friend and I think it may be due to it's location and felt it was
aimed at tourists. We felt we would have had a different experience
at the South King street branch. The place was dead with no
atmosphere or music. All staff were partaking in a big clean
up which is good but not when you are trying to have a meal. The food
was average. The starter wasn't cooked properly and the pizza
was hard. After eating many a Soho Pizza in my time I was looking
forward to the big flakes of parmesan. Instead I got a meagre
offering which was damn right embarrassing considering its
a main component of the pizza. When asked why they were shy with the
ingredients, we were informed that it's always like that. At least
the wine was good after choosing the recommendation
from our server. We ran away very quickly without leaving a tip and
consoled ourselves with a cocktail at the Modern's bar. What a waste
of a tea opportunity in town" -
