| | | | La Tasca Restaurant Didsbury Manchester - reader comments | "If you reserve a table for the Tapas for a Tenner offer make sure the staff are aware of this when you arrive! I reserved online, received a confirmation text, was shown to my table on arrival, ordered various tapas with a bottle of wine, everything going fine. Came to settle and the waiter refused to honour the offer, claiming he needed to know at our time of arrival and that the portions would have been slightly smaller on the offer menu! Not wanting to make a scene (the waiter was adamant), I settled and left, however a copy of my reservation text message and my bill will be winging their way to the most senior person at La Tasca. Very unfortunate end to an otherwise pleasant evening." - james robertson, london 14/3/09 (visited on a tues eve) |
| "A touch of Spain in Didsbury? Maybe, but the food was tremendous value for money if you get the 'Tapas for a Tenner' menu. We were a bit sceptical at first given the normal menu prices but the all you can eat for £10 offer was too good to miss. True to their word, La Tasca gave out the cheap menu and explained how it would work. First of all we should order 3 tapas each then, if we wanted more, we could order another three, then another three... you get the idea. Clever touch - it avoids waste and means you can get real value for money. Special prize for the Patatas Bravas but the meatballs were also superb. The only thing missing was a Matador (and a bull) but we still had a great night ." - david scott, macclesfield 25/11/08 (visited on a sunday evening) |
| "Definitely the worst dining experience we've had. None of the 3 or 4 paella dishes were available. I thought this was a tapas restaurant? Childish, unprofessional staff were more concerned with messing around than doing their jobs. Chairs knocked over, plates and glasses dropped. On top of all this, after an hour of waiting patiently, we had no food, no apology and a suddenly elusive manager. Evening ruined, we left." - jeremy, manchester 24/11/08 (visited on a sunday evening) |
