There's so many non-Mexican 'Mexican' restaurants that get it wrong in Manchester, and with an explosion of burrito bars popping up all across the city, we actually broke the first rule of reviewing and entered with preconceived expectations.
For that reason, we were pleasantly surprised that the food here is generous in portion size, fresh, nicely presented and incredibly tasty. Starters or "small dishes" are the size of main courses in many other restaurants and the fact that it was packed on a Monday night, when every other bar in the area seemed empty, spoke volumes. We even had to wait at the bar, packed with over 100 tequilas, for a table to come free. This gave us chance to admire the cool decor, with the beautiful lighting and exposed industrial brick walls, painted over with artwork representing the Day Of The Dead, Mexican wrestlers and a gigantic Chihuahua. |
