Mughli Rusholme
Pronounced 'mug-glee', the name literally translates as 'descendant of the Mughals', Muslims from central Asia who descended into and ruled over most of the Indian sub-continent from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century.
Located in the heart of Manchester's bustling Wilmslow Road, the Mughli Restaurant + Charcoal Pit is a time-honoured family business, serving authentic, halal ‘Mughlai’ cuisine from the northern regions of India and Pakistan since 1991.
The Restaurant and Charcoal Pit, now celebrating its 20th anniversary in the heart of Manchester’s bustling Curry-Mile, and known for its attentive service, lively atmosphere and exceptional selection of char-grilled and home-style dishes, is a must for all diners.
Guests can enjoy a drink around the bar or relax and dine in the main restaurant set around the open Charcoal Pit and Tandoor.
The Kashmiri Booths provide for a more intimate dining experience, with the Gallery towards the rear of the restaurant available for larger groups and parties.

Mughli's 'Mughlai' Menu
Start your journey through the subcontinent with an extensive selection of vegetarian, meat and seafood options inspired by the home of the best local-food found in Pakistan, ‘Food Street’ in Gawalmandi, Lahore.
Continue the exploration through the Punjab region with Mughli's sizzlers, succulent biryanis and a variety of slowly-broiled, home-style specialities, as well as all the usual favourites you would expect to find on the Curry-Mile.
Finish, relax and recharge with Mughli's Desi Chai or Mint Tea, or indulge in the Sticky ‘Gulab Jamun’ Doughballs or home-made Mango & Apple Pie.
Mughli provide a take-away service, as well as a children’s menu and high-chairs for family diners.
 
 
 
 
About Mughli Restaurant + Charcoal Pit
Mughli first opened the doors to its flagship restaurant in the heart of Manchester's renowned Curry Mile in 1991 by the now late Mohammad Arshad, affectionately known to his customers as 'Uncle Peter'.
The restaurant quickly gained a reputation for its mouth-watering chargrilled meats, signature 'Karahi' sauce as well as its friendly service.
The ‘empire’ then grew - first with the expansion of the Manchester restaurant in 1996 and followed by the opening of Mughli Knutsford by Peter’s eldest son, Sax, in 2001.
Mughli Restaurant + Charcoal Pit is fully licensed with an extensive drinks menu and carefully considered wine list to perfectly accompany the cuisine.
All major credit cards (but not cheques) are accepted.
The restaurant is air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible and has a private car-park to the rear.
