Grinch
Bar and Italian Restaurant Manchester - reader comments
"I've
been eating out at Grinch for over 5 years now and I've never been
disappointed. I hadn't made a booking on Saturday night for me and
my friend. We arrived at around half past eight and were told that
there was a half an hour wait. After ten minutes chatting and drinking
at the bar downstairs, they'd found us a table. Halfway through our
meals a live jazz singer was brought out. A little bit on
the loud side but it really didn't bother me - he was great!
The food is always gloriously tasty, served at a
perfect temperature and in a perfect portion size.
Even though the service is so prompt I've never felt rushed. The staff
are really friendly and if you're stuck on what to choose
they'll always offer advice, whether it be your main meal or your
cocktail. The interior decor has to be seen. I love
restaurants with individuality. Above all this place has a fantastic
atmosphere. I've really not got a bad word to say about Grinch.
I'll hopefully still be coming here to eat for years to come"

"Chapel Walks must
be Manchester's best street for great restaurants - Chaophraya,
Bacchanalia, Brasserie Blanc,
Sam's Chop House and Grinch! This plush pizzeria and wine bar from
the Felicini chain boasts fantastic decor with great little touches
like menu's printed on brown envelopes and a different 1950's pin
up decorating the cocktail list on each table. The wonderful, well-priced
menu offers many pizzas given a twist - like Greek and Chinese toppings,
whilst there's also tasty classic American Cheeseburgers and Club
sandwiches. The service on our recent visit was up there with the
best we've received in any restaurant in Manchester, the waiter taking
time out to ask where we'd been beforehand and even returning later
to ask what our plans were for the rest of the afternoon. Our only
gripe is that the tables are extremely cramped together and on previous
visits, it can get incredibly loud (especially downstairs) when it's
busy, which unsurprisngly, it can be on most evenings. Certainly one
of the best pre-theatre, post-shopping restaurants in town and with
so many good restaurants on this street you'll never be disappointed
if your first choice is fully booked and you end up in another."
